Obtaining your copy: just get it for free!

Hi mates,

I’m sorry for “ignoring” all your messages about buying a copy of the album. Honestly, I don’t “ignore” them, NO.NO.NO.

I hope, you will understand me. It’s really very difficult to think about that. I didn’t think about involving “money”, “payments”, “obtaining” and other things in that work. We all didn’t work for any money. We didn’t do artworks, we didn’t write songs for anything but to do something for Amy. So we don’t want and we won’t get any tiny penny for our present to Amy. But what to do to if you want to get a copy? Of course, I’d love to print and send it for free to anyone who’d like to get it, But for now I can’t afford that. So…

Today I decided how I will act. I’m going to put the album on the web as a big file ready for printing, so y’all could download it and print in your local typography wherever you are! So, you won’t have to pay for delivery and you can choose your own printing options (glossy or opaque, thin or thick and so on). I’ll do that after the 14’th of September, so anyone could get it for free! 🙂

What do you reckon? Would you download the album to print it in your local typography?

P.S. As I see, some of authors won’t be happy to know their works will be available for unlimited replication. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

I would think that the authors would be exstatic about the potential exposure offered by unlimited replication. The Album is an excellent medium by which authors / artists can promote thier talents. Now thier work can be seen by thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people. The next potential customer is only a download away! I had a friend who made records back in the ’70s and then faded away into obscurity. 30 years later because of free file sharing sites like Limewire, he discovered that there was still a demand for his music and was able to secure a new record deal with a company in Switzerland! To be a featured artist in The Album For Amy is not just a great honor but may also be where you’re next commission comes from.

I totally agree with Daryl. I’m honoured that my drawing would be in one book let alone in many! I can’t wait for the download. It was such a beautiful idea and I’m glad it came together with so many amazing pieces of art. I’m very proud to have been a part of it and Vladamir you should definitely be very proud. Thank you for thinking of doing this for such a talented lady that was taken too soon. Happy 30th Amy xxx RIP xxx
