Amy by Jasjyot Singh Hans

I heard of Amy Winehouse’s death through a message on my phone a friend sent me. And it came to me a such a shock. More so because though I had been listening to her music for a long time, it was those days I was checking up on her site on any update on a long due new record. And then it was just blank.

I’ve been wanting to draw her for too long now, I thought of many compositions. Then this happened. I loved every bit of working on this.

Also, ‘Wake Up Alone’ from her second and last studio album, Back to Black is my favorite song by her. RIP Amy.

Amy Animated

You couldn’t help but smile and laugh
When she got that mischievious grin
You knew she was yp to something or about to comment
Her special brand of reckoning
Though at times it wasn’t funny
What she went through
But I tell ya when it was
My stomach muscles paid the price, it’s true
Her humour and wit
Went hand in hand
If you were privy to witness it
Then you would completely understand
Sometimes it boggled me and I wonder where exactly
It was originated
Then shook off the notion
And appreciated
Amy animated…

A Voice of Her Own

A Voice of Her Own

Unique and distinctive
You know it’s her when you hear the song
It’s worldwide known
There’s no mistaking
To who it belongs to
You cannot be wrong
Strong and versatile
Yet tender but profound
While the lyrics are original and defining
The songs have power
The grooving sound
Day or night
Whether in love or in a fight
It has you movin round
Touches you
Relates to you
Or you just like the way it is
To have seen her live
You would of felt her jive
Now her legacy gives us joy
A talent was shown
Truly Amy
A Voice of Her Own…
